Melissa is an Honours student within the School of Life and Environmental Sciences at Deakin University, Waurn Ponds campus. Melissa has always been passionate about Zoology, Animal Science and Wildlife Conservation. This matched with a keen interest in human-animal relationships and the social sciences, has influenced Melissa’s Honours research project which is focused on exploring and understanding the experiences of people and their dogs with 1080baiting using qualitative methods. This work aims to inform rural communities, Government agencies and Dog owners of impacts that 1080 baiting has on individuals within our communities and their companion animals.
