Nyree Raabe


PhD Candidate


Nyree Raabe is a PhD Student in the School of Humanities and Social Sciences at Deakin University. With a long-held passion for environmental security and intergenerational justice, Nyree’s work centres around rethinking modern institutions and how these embedded perceptions and practices shape the relationship between society and nature. Her PhD research explores the impact of XR experiences on stakeholder connection to, understanding and value of marine environments. This work aims to identify new opportunities for promoting pro-ecological worldviews using immersive experiences and provide insights into long-term communication and educational strategies to engender sustainable connections to Marine Protected Areas.
